Queensland's best on show in Townsville

The best young touch footy players from across Queensland are in town this week to show selectors they’ve got what it takes to play for their State, when they compete in this week’s QSST 16-18 Years State Championship.

The annual four-day event, which rotates between Queensland’s twelve school regions, returns to Townsville for the first time since 2012 and features twenty-four teams from across the state, each battling it out for the right to be crowned State Champions.

Originally scheduled for mid-May, the event was postponed due to wet weather, with over 200mm of rain falling in the Townsville area over a 24 hour period.

The opening ceremony will take place at 8am on Thursday 2 June, followed by the commencement of matches at 9:40am.

All matches will be played at Townsville Touch Football’s Queens Park Touch Fields.
